Star Wars - Han Solo Carbonite - Volvo Panel
My friend Jeroen, over at Yaroon Workshop needed help to have a mold made from his volvo panel.
But why ? Because when the production team created the Han Solo in Carbonite, the panels on the sides, were actually made from old volvo panels.
No longer available today, those panels cost some pretty penny, so for people who would want to have those panels made to build a Han Solo in carbonite, a much more affordable way is to make a mold of it, and pull resin castings.
Jeroen and his team, didn’t wanted a panel like everyone else was offering with the windows blank, etc, they wanted to offer the exact same panel, which means a intricate mold would have to be done rather than a dump block mold.
So when he consulted me, my first idea was to do a matrix mold, it takes some time, but the final product is very very handy, especially for castings like this.
Since i’ve already covered how to make matrix mold on previous posts, i am just gonna let you enjoy pictures of the process
