STARGATE SG-1 - DHD Crystals v2

After getting a vacuum chamber , i decided to try making dhd crystals again. (see article from previous batch from a year before : Stargate SG-1 - DHD crystals v1).

It was with apprehension that i started this new batch.

I started the same way as the previous batch, made a mold from the original crystal, fixing defects, and new master.

Thanks to that new equipment, i ditched the epoxy resin and used clear urethane one, which had a 4h demold time.

As i didn’t knew this resin, I did some test with one tint to see the intensity of it, here is y “fifty shades of orange”

Results were beyond expectation thanks to the vacuum chamber, casts were bubble free, and color way more vibrant than epoxy.

The first new batch were soon casted
